Meeting Announcement: Bass Traps – What They Are, How They Are Made, And How To Use Them

The Central Indiana Section of the Audio Engineering Society is pleased to announce our first meeting of the year.

The meeting is scheduled for January 27th, 2011 at 7pm (view email announcement) where Eric Smith, Founder & President of Auralex Acoustics Inc., will discuss bass traps; what they are, why they are needed, how one is made and several real-world examples of the application.

It will be held in Auralex’ Indianapolis office in their home theater demonstration room. To ensure an accurate count for the meeting, please RSVP below.

Central Indiana Section Partners With Ball State Student Section In Streaming Jeff Steeg Meeting

The Central Indiana Section is pleased to partner with the Ball State University Student Section to provide live streaming of their meeting on November 21st at 4pm.

The meeting will be hosted within Soundhouse C of the Ball State Music Technology Studios in the Music Instruction Building and will feature Jeff Steeg, Studio Engineer and Audio Specialist at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. Steeg will discuss the importance of preparation in both studio and live scenarios.

Those from the Central Indiana Section who wish to attend are more than welcome. However, as this is the inaugural live stream by the Section we invite all who are able to tune in.

Central Indiana Section Sets Schedule Of Events For 2011

The Central Indiana Section of the Audio Engineering Society is pleased to announce that a schedule of events has been set for 2011.

Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of every other month (guest availability permitting), with the exception of the summer season, in which more flexibility will be exercised if additional meetings are held.

  • May 12 (rescheduled due to guest availability)
  • September 15
  • November 17

Specific meeting topics are still being finalized and will be announced in the coming month so stay tuned for further details! However, at this point we can safely say that the schedule will hold numerous educational lectures and technical tours.
